GardenMind: AI Garden Planner

Summary: GardenMind stores your garden data in your Firebase account. We use AI to provide plant care advice and photo diagnosis. Your photos are processed for analysis only and are not stored permanently. You can delete your account and all data at any time.

3. How We Use Your Data
- Provide personalized garden care tasks based on your plants and weather
- Power AI chat with context about your garden for relevant advice
- Analyze plant photos for identification and disease diagnosis
- Store your garden journal entries and planting history
- Provide account management and data sync
- Measure app usage and improve features (when enabled)
4. AI and Photo Processing
GardenMind uses Google Gemini AI to power the chat assistant and photo analysis features. When you send a message or photo:
- Your message and garden context are sent to Google Gemini for processing
- Photos are resized and sent for analysis, then discarded after processing
- Small thumbnails of photos are stored in your chat history for display
- AI responses are stored as part of your chat history
5. Legal Bases (EEA/UK Users)
- Contract performance: core garden tracking, AI chat, sign-in, sync, and account management
- Legitimate interests: app security, abuse prevention, service reliability
- Consent: optional analytics, manageable through the app's settings
6. Data Sharing
We do not sell your data. Data is shared only with:
- Firebase: for authentication, data storage, and analytics as described above
- Google Gemini AI: for processing chat messages and photo analysis
- OpenWeatherMap: your approximate location is used to fetch weather data
7. Data Retention
- Garden data: stored until you delete it or delete your account
- Chat history: stored until you delete individual chats or your account
- Photos: full-size photos are not stored; only small thumbnails persist in chat history
8. Your Rights
- Access: view all your garden data, journal, and chat history in the app
- Delete: remove individual entries, chats, or delete your entire account
- Consent: manage analytics in Settings

9. Account and Data Deletion
You can delete your account and all associated data from Settings → Delete Account. See our deletion page for details.
10. International Transfers
Firebase and Google AI services may process data outside your country. Google provides safeguards for international transfers as described in their privacy documentation.
11. Children's Privacy
GardenMind is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
12. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date.
